Went to Modells today and got 2 pairs of shorts for 5.00 each both Adidas. Awesome.
Also went to Party City and bought Crypt Creature costume for son and Countess of Darkness costume for self - his was 10.00 mine was 5.00. Its a bit big but has all the parts and fits okay and is long and covers everything. So its safe to wear in the office.
Son has a Halloween costume party at camp and needs to wear one. While at Modells I also picked up a headband and wrist bands which he wanted to wear for Olympic day.
I bring the new costume home and he decided after trying on his old Batman costume, that he wants to wear his old costume from last year instead of wearing his new costume I just bought.
Watermelons were on sale at the ethnic grocery so I bought three.
yummy!
Thats it for bargains for right now.
I have been too tired and stressed out over work to freecycle. So that has not happened.

updates!
Ah I went to the party for about almost cost of nothing. I wore my black Ann Taylor dress which I got onsale and some black pumps from ebay for about 15 or so and my old blazer which I got as part of a suit onsale at Century 21- Jones New York for 99.00
I looked okay. My friend wore upscale stuff but she is always like that.
She has a lot of rental income coming in so its different plus she's older and has a lot to spend.
I had a great time. It was very nice in upstate New York.
There was a lot of food and I think I ate about 15 courses including trays and trays of appetizers.
Everything looked and tasted great.
Well I had to give my friend some money for her son's graduation so that ended up being the expense. But it doesnt happen everyday.
And he's a good boy so he deserves it.
Recently I have not spent a lot only on a pair of shoes black penny loafers which fit nicely.
I paid for my kids camp which was a lot but again my husband told me to pay for it.
Its annoying but he really is the spender in this relationship.
He is telling me now to spend on our summer vacation but I really don't want to since we paid for camp already. And that was a lot and painful!
But apparently he will keep hammering at me until I say yes.
I can't seem to save any money at all.
I do however need a haircut and I would really love a massage.
I have never really had one in my whole life and I would rather spend on a massage then on a vacation.
Other than that I have been trying to save and work some overtime not voluntarily but because I really have to, and do some hours on the weekend if not too hectic- wishful thinking. All hours on weekends are hectic!
and plain insane!
It just takes so much out of me though when I work Saturday that I try not to do so anymore. It just leaves me drained for the following week and I can't wake up until the following weekend when I rest.
Then the rest of the week I am semi-crabby due to fatigue. After taxes its not much and not worth it to do overtime sometimes. It ages you so much.
I think some major expenses since last time have been gas and groceries. Mostly snacks or stockpiling on things on sale. I have been trying to eat more steamed fish as I was told to stop eating cold cuts. And that gets expensive.
My child had to go to a birthday party and I had to buy two bionicles- that was about 50.00 or so. One for the kid and one for him= he had to have one of course. Cant buy one for the birthday child and none for your own.
When I went to Chicago on my conference, I bought some books at the Chicago Art Institute and some books on drawing which cost about 50.00 for my kid. Maybe he can be an artist and be happy and creative.
To get in cost about 25.00 or so. I walked there and back so no expenses there and took the bus home from LaGuardia so that was pretty cheap.
I was tempted to buy legos in the Nordstrom mall but didnt ultimately.
They had some nice star wars sets.
I picked up a great skirt at the gap for 15.00 but I really needed this skirt for the summer since I can't fit some of my clothes anymore. It was a great find. Once again I can find stuff in Chicago I can never find in nyc because its mostly sold out at certain sale prices. Whereas in Chicago its still there. This has happened twice already.
Oh yeah and I had to spend on airport food about 30.00 total- which is massive sounding but only like 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks.
Its pricey.
The city is really nice in the summer- in the winter its much colder and windier- and hard to stand still on Michigan Avenue. It was much greener this time around and with the lake melted, the boats were nice to spot, ferrying passengers around.
I still have to get my sister a gift for graduation so we'll see.
